I recently worked with Marty Kirby to brand her newly established Fit Femme, LLC. Marty, a runner, started a Stroller Strides franchise in June 2010 as a way to work from home, be with her 2 year old and kindergartner, and share her love of fitness with others. Since then, she has added additional fitness programs including Fit4Baby, Body Back, 5k running programs, and Fit Femme Boot Camp. When I asked Marty what she loves about Fit Femme, she said that she has a “passion for fitness and helping people make positive changes in their lives.”
When brainstorming with clients about their new brand, I have two very favorite questions – “What actress would you cast to play you in the movie of your life?” And “What colors and textures fill your closet?” Marty, after some consideration, chose Sandra Bullock and Jennifer Garner. So, armed with the fun, strong, and beautiful Sandra and Jennifer (and Marty of course) as inspiration, a palatte of pinks, and Miss Congeniality on-demand, I put together a few possible design options for Fit Femme.
I chose two fonts for Fit Femme, the first being a solid, strong font, with a thin inner detail to echo the change and progress Marty plans to see within her clients. “Femme” is dressed in a more feminine, but still strong, font. The venn diagram circle motif illustrates the blending of strength and femininity that is the Fit Femme woman.
