In May 2009, I started Little Sprout Creations with a love of pretty printed things. Since then, this tiny business has given me the honor of designing 2 dozen birthday parties, 4 weddings, 2 holiday card collections, 10 birth announcements, 8 showers, a minted kids’ stationery collection, contributions to 3 of my favorite party blogs, and the privilege of running a craft class for some amazing moms and kiddos.
In January 2012, I launched Tangerine Type, dedicated to small business branding and website design. Since then, I’ve designed 13 logos and 4 websites for some incredible women.
Over the years, I’ve thought about my priorities – my family, my friends, myself, my relationship with my husband, my relationship with Christ, my relationship with my kids. A few months ago, I realized that the way I was spending my time was not reflecting my priorities or my personal goals. After much much much talking (my husband is the best listener on the planet) and much praying, we decided to close down our teeny tiny business. It probably won’t be forever, and you’ll definitely be seeing some small Little Sprout designs here and there, but for now, I’m going to be spending less time at my desk, less time with Illustrator, less time at Paper Source (okay, probably not really), and more time on the floor with my daughters, more time on the couch with my husband, more time outside, more time in God’s Word, and more time loving others AND myself.
